Summer is fading (though it remains warm) and autumn beacons new experiences. For USACCRA many people pause for our members to migrate to the next Biennial Gathering, this time in San Antonio, TX, 27-30 October. In some respect this event resembles its predecessors: great presenters, fine meals, meaningful worship, entertainment opportunities, honoring memories, new learnings, and casual hospitality with old and new friends. It is a return home for the Army Chaplaincy Family. Yet, new faces, news of the Corps and more are in store. Be on the front line. USACCRA members or maybes, all are invited to a safe place for sharing thoughts, feelings, and future dreams. Registration is still open on this website. Pease do it now, so you get the preferred hotel rates and a place on the front row.
Lastly, changing subjects, opportunities abound for future volunteers to assist USACCRA supporting the Army Chaplaincy’s mission of “bringing God to soldiers and soldiers to God” along with their families. New hands are needed for the scholarship team. In 2028 several new board of director positions are open with elections in late 2027. Both executive and members-at-large leaders are needed.
Secondly, for those who cannot volunteer for more active roles, there is forever a need for financial donations to support branch association efforts. Why not give an annual gift to the scholarship fund or support for the next Army ball or biennial gathering? Blessed by God, any amount has an effective impact on preserving the freedom of worship in our Army ranks.
The Army and its Chaplaincy are going through change and challenges that beg our attention, prayer, and active participation. Allow USACCRA to be that means to be an Aaron and Hur supporting the arms of our Corps. We are needed for especially such a time as this.
Thank you for all you do for God and Country.
Scottie Lloyd (USACCRA President)
