It is All About People

USACCRA is growing (590+ members and rising) and is becoming known across all components of the Army, actively serving and veterans. More benefits have been added. The recent 250th Chaplain Corps anniversary activities fuel these increases. But contrary to what might be assumed that money drives this trend, it is people that produce this success. The military air services gather around flying aircraft. The sea-going services center on ships and subs. The Army (with an exception for the Marines) focuses on people-Soldiers and their families.

USACCRA is an all-volunteer effort to match this Soldier-centric mission. As president, my hardest ministry is what I used to do as the Director of Personnel and Ecclesiastical Relations for the Army Chief of Chaplains, finding the right person at the right time for the right position for success in support of “Bringing God to soldiers and soldiers to God”. Currently the Association needs at least three positions filled.

We need a supporter for the Scholarship Team. This team is settled, successful with its first year run in 2024-2025 and is starting the 2025-2026 year. All meetings are by zoom. Hopefully team members will stay for three years. Board member SGM-Ret. Dianne Ellwein is the oversight for this benefit. USACCRA gave $10,200 to six family members for college this year.

Next, we need help with the Corps Store team. The same team rules apply here as on all teams, zoom meetings, and a three-year commitment. Board member CH-Ret Jonathan Gibbs III serves as oversight. This effort is poised to expand. The good news is our partnership with ProLine2. They do everything for us. The team simply makes decisions on inventory and sale publicity. The team requests a NCO.

Finally, the Third Vice-President position opened. Our constitution allows the board to choose a successor for the missing four months; we are looking for a person who can fill the remaining time in 2025 and continue to a regular three-year term. This provides continuity, which is important for chapter care. We are ready for chapter expansion and coordination with major Army installations and the communities around them.

Are you interested? Contact me for any of these three positions at srlloyd@msn.com or call at 909-553-5196 (I Live in CA.).

Lastly, we have several board positions opening January 2026 for three-year terms. Although some current board members may ask to extend, the Association cannot presume all will. Elections are always open to all members. These positions will be announced by November 2025.
For our Association God-faithful people are the center of our existence. Money is a tool. Structure is a tool. Both are important, but they follow people and relationships. Please pray about this and thank you for your support.

Pro Deo et Patria
Scottie Lloyd
USACCRA President
