I am currently retired after serving 40 years in the SD Army National Guard, with the last 22 being AGR.

I am married to CW4 (Ret) Fred Ellwein who was the former Commander of the U.S. Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps. We have been married 35 years and have three beautiful adult children ages 32, 31, and 23.

I am currently a full-time student and also work at the Veterans Resource Center at Black Hills State University. I do hold two Masters Degrees from South Dakota State University in Educational Administration and Guidance, Counseling, and Personnel Services. I also hold a Certificate from Duke University School of Medicine in Psychological Health of Armed Service members.

If I am not in class, you can find me on a hiking or biking trail, golf course, ski slope, pickleball court, or on a lake either fishing or kayaking. Taking a knee is one of God’s greatest retirement gifts!
