Some folks ask about the Association’s relationship with the Military Chaplains Association (MCA). Both groups have similar goals and programs, but there are two distinct differences. The MCA has developed into an umbrella organization for several different Federal chaplaincies, the military services being the mainline groups. USACCRA is strictly the Army Chaplaincy. Second, MCA is a political advocacy group in confederation with other military advocacy groups. This is an important and a worthy reason to be affiliated with the MCA. The Association advocates through traditional means of education and social but is not overtly political. USACCRA seeks to deconflict actions between us and the MCA for the greater good of all Federal chaplaincies especially the Army Unit Ministry Teams. Certainly, we advocate all Army Chaplaincy folks to join their own service branch family association. For an entire career and beyond, the vast majority and closest relationships will be formed within the Army. These Army family ties are most to be preserved now and till death.
Thank you for all you do for God and country.
Scottie Lloyd
USACCRA President
