Eleventh Biennial Family Gathering

22-25 October 2024

2 Steps Required to Attend:


  1. Register at the Chaplain Corps Regimental Armed Forces Reunion Web Site or Complete the Form provided by Armed Forces Reunion (AFR) and mail it in
  1. Registration Period: Now thru September 20, 2024
  2. Late Registration: After September 21, 2024  (increased registration fee)

  4. Registering your attendance does not provide a Hotel Room Reservation
  5. You can also register by mailing the registration form with payment to: Armed Forces Reunions, Inc., 322 Madison Mews, Norfolk, VA 23510, ATTN: US Amy Chaplains


  1. Make Hotel reservation at the Gathering’s Hotel Web site
    1. By utilizing the booking link: https://hil.tn/80wjrc
    2. Or, by calling Central Reservations at 1-866-247-3572 and referencing group code: CDT91G
    3. Most folks will arrive Tuesday (October 22nd) and check out on Friday at noon (October 25)
    4. You can come early or stay after the gathering. Just select your arrival date and departure date as the association has arranged for extra days at the $112 rate for those desiring more time in Columbia SC.
    5. Note: Rooms are blocked at the conference rate of $112 per night plus taxes.  The gathering’s block expires on September 20, 2024.  So, book early if you want to guarantee a room and our special rate of $ 112.
    6. Registration starts at 1 PM on Tuesday, October 22nd.


Note:  If you desire to go to the Institute for Religious Leadership you must conform with Fort Jackson’s entrance requirement – DOD ID card and pre-clearance for anyone without the DOD ID Card (i.e. civilians or Government Civilians).  See in a following section the procedures.

Attire during the Gathering:


  • Business Casual during the daily events and Thursday Evening Casual Buffet
    • Business Casual definition: Casual business attire is ambiguous, but generally means slacks, khakis, or a skirt with a dress shirt, blouse or polo. Dresses and seasonal sport coats fall into this dress code as well.


  • Semi-Formal during the Opening Dinner on Tuesday Evening
    • Semi Formal definition: Semi-formal attire is a dress code that is less formal than black tie or white tie, but more formal than business casual or casual. (Coat and Tie for men)




Trip to Institute for Religious Leadership (IRL) located on Fort Jackson SC

(Yes, us old timers call it the Chaplain Center and School)

  • We will be traveling by bus from the hotel to Fort Jackson where the IRL is located.on Thursday, 24 October in the afternoon (right after lunch)
    • The bus is included in the registration fee – so unlike previous reunions there is no additional cost to you.
    • If you desire to drive yourself that is permissible
    • Requirements to enter Fort Jackson:
      • Valid DOD issued ID card (retired ID is OK)
      • Personnel without a Military ID card or valid DOD retirement card are required to register with the Association NLT 1 Oct with the following information:
        • DOB
        • Driver’s license number and the state that issue it
        • Expiration date of the driver’s license
        • If this is not done, individuals will not be able to enter Fort Jackson
        • Send above data points to: chapgathering@gmail.com   NLT 1 Oct
          • The association will send the list of attendees who need advance clearance to IRL. IRL will submit a memo to post security.






  • Tuesday and Thursday evening dinners are part of the selection process during registration.
  • Wednesday Evening dinner is on your own. The hotel has a full-service restaurant for you to enjoy
