Steve Wilson

Sergeant Major (Retired) Steve Wilson presently serves as the Business Services Consultant for Florida CareerSource Pasco Hernando.

Prior to moving back to his home state of Florida in February 2003 after retirement, Steve served in the United States Army for 30+ years with his last assignment being the U.S. Army Chief of Chaplains Sergeant Major, Pentagon, Washington D.C.

Steve, a native of Dade City, Florida, first entered the Army in 1972 and completed his basic training at Fort Jackson, SC and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Dix, NJ & Fort Hamilton, NY.

During his military career, Sergeant Major Wilson has had a variety of assignments. They include: 36th Combat Engineer Brigade, Fort Benning, GA; 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, CO; 36th Signal Battalion, Taegu, Korea; Army Nashville District Recruiting Command, Morristown, TN; 1st Corps Support Command & 18th Airborne Corps Chaplains Office, Fort Bragg, NC; U.S. Army Recruiting Command, Fort Sheridan, IL; U.S. Army Transportation Corps, Fort Eustis, VA; Berlin Brigade, Berlin, Germany; 8th Infantry Division, Bad Kreuznach, Germany; U.S. Army Chaplain Center and School, Fort Monmouth, NJ; Chief of Chaplains Office, Pentagon, Washington DC; U.S. Army Pacific, Fort Shafter, HI; and as mentioned, his last assignment, a second tour back to the Pentagon as the U.S. Army Chief of Chaplains Sergeant Major.

Steve is a graduate of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy, First Sergeant School and U.S. Army Recruiting and Career Counselor School. He holds other military certifications in the areas of Noncommissioned Officer Education System. Steve holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA. He is Certified Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma and is a Certified Florida Workforce Professional (Levels 1, 2, 3).

Steve was awarded two Legion of Merit Medals, four Meritorious Service Medals, four Army Commendation Medals, the Army of Occupation Medal, the Army Staff Identification Badge and other military medals, ribbons, and badges.

Steve currently serves as the US Army Chaplains Corps Regimental Association Board Member & Honorary Sergeant Major, and as Florida Kiwanis District Board Member and Lieutenant Governor for Division 8.

Steve serves as a Board Member for the Hernando County Business Alliance and Board Member for the Veterans HEAT Factory. Steve also serves as a representative to Nature Coast Manufacturers’ Association Board.

He and his lovely wife, De, reside in Spring Hill, Florida. They have two sons that serve in the military. Their oldest son, Bo, is serving as a Senior Noncommissioned Officer with the U.S. Air Force (Thailand) and their younger son, Billy, is serving as a Senior Commissioned Officer with the U.S. Navy (Hawaii). Steve and De really love and miss their Grandson, Chris, and Granddaughter, Freyja!!
