Chaplain (Colonel-Rt) John W. Brinsfield, Jr., was an Army chaplain from 1969 to 2002. He was the Army Chaplain Corps Historian at the U.S. Army Chaplain Center and School from 2002-2011. A native of Atlanta, Chaplain Brinsfield is a retired member of the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church. He has degrees from Vanderbilt, Yale, Emory and Drew Universities and taught military history for 14 years at such institutions as the United States Military Academy, the U.S. Army War College, the U.S. Army Chaplain School, and Wesley Theological Seminary. A veteran of Operation Desert Storm, Chaplain Brinsfield has authored or co-authored ten books and numerous journal and newspaper articles. He and his wife, Patricia, live in Ringgold, GA.
