Ministry Report
I retired as the TRADOC Chaplain (Fort Monroe) in 1999 and served as the Director of the Hampton University (Virginia) Religious Studies Program and professor of Ethics and Leadership. In 2004 I was elected to serve as the 20th Editor of The Christian Recorder, the official newspaper of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. We moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where the newspaper was published; and what a city! I retired from that position in 2016 and moved back to Hampton, Virginia to be near family (son, daughter-in-law and grown grandchildren). Charlotte and I will celebrate 56 years of marriage in August 2018. I walk every morning. I had both knees replaced at the same time in 2007 and the new knees are still doing fine. I attend St. Paul AME Church in Newport News where Charlotte is on the ministerial staff. I have a number of preaching, teaching engagements and leading workshops. I had a great time in the Army, at Hampton University and as the Editor of The Christian Recorder, the oldest African American Newspaper (Since 1852).
