ARIZONA CHAPTER OF USACCRA MEETS
“A new informal chapter of USACCRA is starting in Arizona. Sorry for all of the sun in the picture of our group, but it’s hard to eliminate sun from pictures in Arizona. Through the efforts of retired Chaplains G.T. Gunhus, Donna Weddle, and Roy Ludlow, and retired Chaplain Assistant Steve Utter, we consolidated old rosters, called folks for email addresses, and have a roster of 35 Arizonans. We had 17 people come to our first lunch on Feb. 28.. It was a wonderful time to connect and reconnect for so many chaplains and chaplain assistants, spouses and widows. Folks came from Glendale (north of Phoenix) to Sierra Vista, a total distance of 180 miles. We had our first gathering at the Thunder Canyon Brewery in northwest Tucson, due to the great work of Steve Utter, who got us a private room. More than half of us are Arizona “snowbirds”, i.e. winter only visitors, but many live here all year. We want to encourage any in Arizona to let us know that they are here, so that we can invite you to the next event. For more info, contact Donna Weddle at firstname.lastname@example.org, or 520-777-6338. “
A picture of our group is below. Sorry for the light beam (the Sun) that make the picture hard to view. We had a person walking by take the picture. We are planning another soon. We will take a better picture.
