Larry Ferguson writes:
I am serving a single point Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod parish, half-time, at Hawks, Michigan, which is in the northeastern part of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan, about 10 miles inland from Lake Huron, in Presque Isle County. I have an active elderly care ministry, and our congregation is seriously engaged in local and worldwide outreach ministry. Since retiring from the Army, I have completed a Master of Sacred Theology degree at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO, and a Doctor of Ministry degree at Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne, IN. In 2013, I published four books, which included a 3 volume set entitled Pictorial Historiography of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, and I translated and edited from German into English a 1923 Festschrift (Celebration Book) on St. John Lutheran Church and Rogers City, Michigan. The title of the new publication is Pioneer Lutherans and Their Congregations in Northern Lower Michigan (1870-1880).
